About The Practice

Acupuncture is specifically defined as using micro-thin needles to elicit physiological responses from the body. These needles access the patient’s own internal resources to help their body make its own medicine. Sometimes referred to as “inside out healing,” acupuncture treatments create space for the body to return to its intended natural homeostatic state. While some practitioners like to call themselves “healers,” at Autonomic Acupuncture, we believe that is it actually the patients themselves that are doing the healing process; we are just there to help facilitate the journey. This is one reason we named our practice Autonomic Acupuncture: by using these specific points on the body, we are ultimately stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system that is responsible for the unconscious processes of relaxation, digestion, and internal repair. We believe that modern culture has caused us as a species to be in an almost constant state of alertness and guarding, which while necessary to keep us alive and moving, also prevents us from taking the necessary time and steps to repair or even maintain the processes of renewal and transformation.

At Autonomic Acupuncture, we are committed to help healing whatever condition you are struggling with, be it musculoskeletal injuries, fertility or gynecological issues, digestive issues, or mental wellness. To attain this goal, we employ a number of modalities such as gua sha, cupping, herbal recommendations, and of course acupuncture. As healthcare practitioners, we are dedicated to helping our patients achieve the balance and wellbeing they’re looking for.
